Author Julie Yarbrough was unexpectedly overwhelmed by grief. Over the course of 10 years a kind of cascading grief rolled through her life, beginning with the illness and death of her husband, Leighton Farrell, a United Methodist minister. A year later her father died of Alzheimer's disease, and then her mother.
In "Grief Light" (published by WestBow Press), Julie Yarbrough offers spiritual comfort, hope and encouragement to readers who are grieving through positive, uplifting reflections on life and love and death. Many of the universal truths of grief are illustrated using practical spiritual illustrations and examples from ordinary life. "Grief Light" also addresses some of the more contemporary modalities of grief such as collective and communal grief, incomplete grief, compound grief and complicated grief.
In "Grief Light," the author writes from the heart to guide the reader toward a better understanding of personal grief. Through meditations of rich imagery and spiritual truths, the reader will discern how faith can grow as a gift of grief through the steadfast love and faithfulness of God.
