Author Julie Yarbrough was unexpectedly overwhelmed by grief. Over the course of 10 years a kind of cascading grief rolled through her life, beginning with the illness and death of her husband, Leighton Farrell, a United Methodist minister. A year later her father died of Alzheimer's disease, and then her mother.

Julie Yarbrough, a native of Dallas, Texas, is the author of a grief ministry program, "Beyond the Broken Heart," and other insightful spiritual books on grief including "Inside the Broken Heart," "Beyond the Broken Heart: Daily Devotions for Your Grief Journey" and "Grief Light."
