While living a life of wealth from his job as a successful radiologic technologist, author Joshua Woods was addicted to drugs and sex. The nice apartment, money, fine clothes and latest tech gadgets he had couldn't calm Woods' desire for physical pleasure - until he had a chance encounter with God.

In his new book, "A Song for the Lonely: The Missing Key to Once and for All Seal Your Pact with God" (published by Balboa Press), Woods describes the 'missing key' he discovered after he realized the error of his ways.

Woods defines this missing key as a two-part rule; he says God must be primary in life at all times and people must surrender everything to God. During his prior hunt for instant gratification, Woods says he felt God wanted him to experience the ups and downs of addiction to test his strength of faith. When he found God, Woods says he felt compelled to write "A Song for the Lonely."

Woods hopes that by sharing his life's struggles with addiction, he will help others become aware of, and alter, their own self-destructive behaviors.

Stressing the book is "for all walks of life," Woods says "A Song for the Lonely" will uplift its readers to consider a life without addiction, allowing the minimalism of nature and God to change their outlooks on life.
