MONROE, N.C.
Jonathan Mayhorn has a doctorate in strategic leadership, and, as such, seeks to encourage others to stop waiting for a perfect leader and instead become life leaders themselves. His new book, "Life Leader: Finding the Greatness Within" (published by WestBow Press), presents life stories, research and applicable guidelines to becoming a life leader.
"People get tired of watching leaders perform so poorly," Mayhorn says. "But leadership is not just reserved for a select few, rather, it is obtainable by anyone who works hard for it."
"Life Leader" is a self-help book at its core. It offers assessments, room for writing goals and a call to action to help guide readers to finding their passion.
Mayhorn advocates a holistic approach to becoming a better leader. He identifies five interdependent keys to leadership: spiritual, emotional, mental, physical and social aspects. In his book, Mayhorn teaches readers how to develop these five aspects in order to become life leaders that others want to follow.
"Many people pursue paths in life that others have carved out for them, instead of the passionate lives God designed for them in the first place," Mayhorn says. "The road less traveled will make all of the difference for the audience if they put the time and effort into becoming totally fit while pursuing their newfound passions."
