Author Johnathon Daugherty launches a new marketing campaign for his debut novel, "The Dragons' Duel" (published by iUniverse), an exploration of myth and legend from the late Heian Period in Japan.

Brother and sister Sakuris and Kayah Karmouri practice the art of assassination as they try to find their place in the world. As they journey through forests and mountains, they meet friends and enemies as well as various mythical beasts and creatures. Though their life is dangerous, they rest assured that as family, they will always be there for one another.

Sakuris is a Dragon Ninja, destined to learn the ways of the Arch-Dragon, a ninja master trained in the ways of the ancient, but not forgotten, martial art known as Galtineah. Kayah is only 10, seven years younger than her ninja brother, but she supports Sakuris every step of the way as he trains as a member of the Dragon Clan.

An excerpt from "The Dragons' Duel":

"He then went a few yards away from where the women were sleeping and looked up into the black sky of the night and shouted, 'Mother! Father! I will revive the clan and I will be Arch-Dragon. Your deaths . . . will not have been in vain!'"
