JoAnn Morris Matthews, the author of Road Warriors: Life Lessons, The Trouble with Mojo, and Move Over Miss Clover, treats readers with a new and educational tale titled Red, White and Who. Her latest tale was inspired by the many months and hours of service she experienced with the Granbury Chamber of Commerce preparing for the Independence Day parades, and exemplifies the values of patriotism and volunteerism, and the importance of community and friendships.

Matthews' compelling story revolves around three pre-teen boys, Simon, and the twins, Mason and Jason, who are working to decorate prized bicycles for the upcoming 4th of July Parade in a small town called Granbury, Texas. Days before the parade, their prized decorated bikes disappear.

With no clues, the trio makes a plan, searches neighborhoods, and questions local citizens to assist the Sheriff's Department in locating the stolen property. They have no investigative experience-but, this is personal. Red herring clues are sprinkled through the pages, making their job challenging.

Volunteering for community service and neighborhood projects lend credence to stories inspired by those services. Matthews took to heart a lesson learned at an early age from her parents: "If you take from a community, you give back to the community." This is the fundamental social rule she now wishes to impart.

Red, White, and Who is truly a story that piques the curiosity of young adults. Through her personable characters, patriotic setting, baffling mystery and positive overtones, Matthews has crafted a tale that fosters the spirit of patriotism, volunteerism, and many other good social and community values in young Americans.
