Jim Sanders, a veteran and accomplished world traveler, has completed his new book "The Tinkers Trade": a delightful take on the charming occupation of tinker, and gambit of vocations that encompassed.

As Mr. Sanders likes to put it, "I began plunking on the keys and a monster was born! From that day forward, typing my thoughts became a daily addiction... a day without writing at least a few pages feels like a day wasted."

Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Jim Sanders's engaging tale begins and ends with the tinker. In their time, the tinkers were masters of metallurgy and all things mechanical; from repairing a broken ax or a pot to a gun or clock. The tinker was sometimes a doctor, a keeper of the peace and even a matchmaker. Very importantly, he was a bearer of news between those far flung homesteads and settlements. The story depicts the living conditions and the characters of those early settlers who braved the dangers of this untamed wilderness to settle the Appalachians.

This fast-paced novel tells of a tinker named Rolf and his companion Sonja, a blaze faced mule, as they plodded the Appalachian trails and byways; buying, selling and administering as needed.

In his travels Rolf met Molly, the love of his life. They were married and cut a swath out of the wilderness for a homestead. Standing shoulder to shoulder the two defended it against all who sought to destroy it. Together, they nurtured the homestead into a settlement which developed into a prosperous town that honors their memories still today.

Readers who wish to experience this lively work can purchase"The Tinkers Trade" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Google Play or Barnes and Noble.
