Brothers Charlie and Cameron Stone believed that they were meant for more, but had no idea how much more. Normalcy in the Stone household quickly becomes a thing of the past when they are suddenly befriended by a stray dog and witness strange behavior from their mother, Sam. Soon the entire family, thrown into the magical hourglass, realizes they are the key to stopping the evil that is coming. Author Jill Curb invites readers to this dangerous and magical time in her new book, "The Hourglass" (published by WestBow Press).

The boys and their father must unearth secrets in order to find their strength in a mysterious paradise of talking animals and giants. The end result is a journey that will test their love, but lead them down a path of discovering each other's true selves.

An excerpt from "The Hourglass":

"'My job was never to make anyone choose a path, only to keep the pathways clear to choose. I choose to hold no power over anyone, including you. My power is better than yours. I choose not to have power.' With a flash of her green eyes, a threat fell from her lips. 'I can destroy you anytime I want. My power is in the fact that I don't destroy you.'"

Curb hopes that readers of all ages will enjoy "The Hourglass," and that it will give them a personal message of hope.
