It is meant to be a fun, exciting, thought provoking fiction, and it also contains messages of good, love, conscience, loyalty, perseverance and basic moral principles. Cartales' desire is that it gives parents a bonding time through reading to their children and sparks a hunger for reading in the children. Finally, the author hopes to make families aware there is successful alternative treatments for cancer and that lives might be saved.

Cartales' says, "It is a book that entertains children with the basics of relationships and unforeseen situations that cannot always be controlled. It teaches them to persevere and have faith. It conveys that we need others and others need us. It gives a message of alternative treatment possibilities that might not otherwise be known. It has beautiful Illustrations that are done by one of my granddaughters. All of my children and ten grandchildren are represented in some capacity in the book."

Jewell Cartales has always loved reading. She has four children and has read literally hundreds of books to them. She also has 10 grandchildren. She knows a lot about children and animals and has lots of experience at this point in her life with both. Cartales has strong moral beliefs, and feels a burden on her heart to influence the world for good and to encourage people to seek their purpose in life. She is in the health care field and has much experience with nutrition, alternative medicine, and child rearing.
