BARNHART, Mo.

Having left his debit card and cell phone one day, author Jeremiah P. Eckrich got to wondering what it would be like if humanity were to do without the technological conveniences that it has learned to take for granted.

In "The Second Stone Age" (published by Xlibris), aliens come to Earth, sending all of humanity back to a Stone Age. The story follows a young married couple, Jacob and Natalie, as they work to survive and rebuild their life.

An excerpt from the book reads:
This was life now. Since the Taking, nothing was the same; nothing seemed like it would ever be the same. A second Stone Age had been thrust upon the world, and humanity had to find a way to survive.

"With all the disasters happening in our world this book shows how the human spirit can overcome," says Eckrich. Intermingling fiction with some real life survival tactics, "The Second Stone Age" is a work of speculative fiction that weaves an entertaining tale that could also teach readers a few things about making it out in the world.
