Jeffery Tracey Sr, a devoted writer of short stories who has retired from the US Postal Service, has completed his new book "A Family Reunited": a story of the ups and downs of bringing a family who had been torn apart by the bitterness of poor finances back together to live in the prairies of Kansas.
Tracey's career in the US Postal Service was a long and fulfilling one, which included being on the front lines of reestablishing mail service to New Orleans in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Of his new phase of life offered to him by retirement, Tracey states, "After raising a family and dedicating (my) life to the U.S. Postal Service, (I) started working on (my) passion of writing short stories."
Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Jeffery Tracey Sr.'s endearing tale introduces a very young boy named Jeffery who has no idea that his single-child life with his mother is about to be spun into something completely unrecognizable, yet full of amazement, wonder, and fun.
Upon picking up seven-year-old brother Alan from a foster family, the mother-son pair abruptly moves to Kansas where they reunite with the boys' father, who is a relic from a marriage that fell apart when the finances in the home went bad. As though discovering the existence of one brother wasn't enough, older brothers Mike and Bob soon join the family. Now the band of boys is ready for the kind of mischief and hijinx that can be expected of rambunctious children who are living in a rented farm house in the Midwest.
At its core, this short story is a declaration of the love of family and that love's power to overcome adversity in all of its forms, regardless of how a family comes to shape or the way that family is forced to evolve due to that same adversity.
Readers who wish to experience this humorous yet heartfelt work can purchase"A Family Reunited" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Google Play or Barnes and Noble.
