Misery meets America's Next Top Model. Jayme Toomey's new novel, Paging Dr. Kevorkian, contains thrilling horror, mature stories, and incredible entertainment.
His book is a compilation of three unique stories full of sheer terror, violence, and dark humor. Each is written from the viewpoint of a different psychologically troubled person. The tales will excite fans of true psychological horror, making them squirm and leaving them clamoring for more.
The title story, Paging Dr. Kevorkian, is a tale of a man marrying for looks, not love. When his supermodel wife is left disfigured and in a wheelchair by a tragedy, he fights the urge to leave her and find another, more attractive companion. As he succumbs to frustration, his defenseless wife is forced to withstand his mistreatment.
"Psychological themes are a big part of my work," said Toomey. "All of my work is written to entertain. I consider my stories controversial because that's how I intended it to be. I'm trying to get back to the raw aspect of horror films I saw as a child, but adding in modern day themes."
