Rocky Mount, N.C.
In response to seeing many people live and worship at a level beneath what God intended for his followers, author and pastor James Williams, Jr. wrote his 2004 book, "Turning Your Defeat into Victory" (published by Trafford Publishing). This year, Williams' book was selected for inclusion in the Trafford Gold Seal program, which recognizes excellence in writing and overall potential.
In this faith-based guide, Williams urges readers to live a victorious life by applying basic biblical principles to their daily lives.
"Everyone is going through one thing or another in their individual lives; we are not all going through the same thing," Williams says. "But everyone wants to know how to turn their defeat into victory."
While serving on the front lines of the Vietnam War, Williams experienced many obstacles that tested his faith and pushed him to call upon God for help and sanctuary. In this inspirational memoir-turned-manual, Williams uses his life experiences to show others how they, too, can turn unfavorable circumstances and events into reasons for praise and joy.
