James Ponticello's autobiography, Never a Kid will touch and enthrall readers with one man's struggles to navigate his way through life's challenges. Ponticello takes us on a journey from poverty as a kid, to flirting with the Mafia, and finally his success as a salesman and motivational speaker.

Never a Kid begins with James' childhood in Astoria in the 1930's. His father caused his mother grief and did little to alleviate the family's overwhelming financial problems. At the age of eleven, James was already the "man of the house." Breaking into houses and stealing jewelry to put food on the table was a regular occurrence. With so much responsibility placed upon his shoulders, James didn't have the chance to be a kid, to feel carefree and live without worries.

As James grew older, he found himself caught up in new challenges, often of his own doing. It all came to a head at 17, when James was forced to make the choice between prison and serving in the military. Of course, James chose the military, which seriously changed his life.

The Navy, rife with its own challenges, truly signaled the end of James' childhood. It gave him legitimate responsibilities, but it also exposed him to the world and all of its vices. In Naples, Italy he got caught up dealing in the Black Market.

Once out of the Navy, James settled down, started a family, and became involved in sales, where he discovered his real talent. He knew how to sell, and he knew what appealed to his customers. Business came naturally to James and he achieved great financial success. However, all the success in the world could not make him truly happy. He always seemed to be chasing down an elusive happiness, until one day he met Rosalind. As he said in his own words, "I have to say it again and again and again. She is the most wonderful woman I have ever met in my life. May God bless her because He's already blessed me by having brought her into my life."

James Ponticello's life story is one that readers will, no doubt, find compelling. There are many lessons to be learned within the pages of Never a Kid, most notably that one can triumph over challenges and hardships.

James Ponticello was inspired to write Never a Kid because he wanted to share some of the exciting adventures he experienced in his life. While writing the book, he became motivated to write more about his vast sales experience and role as a motivator. Ponticello hopes to write more books in the future.
