In "The Sketching Detective" (published by Xlibris), crime novelist Jack McCormac lets readers follow the exploits of his title character, Jack McKay, a university professor turned detective who becomes embroiled in a complex murder case. A new marketing campaign is set for McCormac's novel which was published in November 2014.

After solving the case of a dead showgirl, Jack is once again thrust at the center of another murder. This time the victim is Sam Campbell, Jack's miserly neighbor. The detective is reluctant to help because of the strain his previous case put on his marriage. His wife, Fiona, however, demands that he join the investigation in order to clear Bob, her brother who has become a primary suspect.

Jack puts all his efforts into solving Sam's murder and clearing Bob's name, hoping to win Fiona back. The murder investigation quickly spins out of control when Jack uncovers sinister details from Sam's past. The already prickly situation becomes even more complex with Jack fighting not just for the truth but for his marriage.

Suffused with menace and intrigue, "The Sketching Detective" will keep readers absorbed in page-turning suspense from beginning until the unforgettable finale.
