More HARRY POTTER is on the way.
Series author J.K. Rowling took to Pottermore today to confirm that she's penned a new short story set in the universe of her famed fantasy series, this time starring former Hogwarts professor Dolores Umbridge.
The story, expected to debut on the website on Halloween, is described as a "rich, 1700-word back story about Umbridge's life, filled with many new details, as well as Rowling's revealing first-person thoughts and reflections about the character"."
The Harry Potter novels have now sold approximately 450 million copies worldwide and have been translated into 74 languages. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone was recently voted the nation's favourite children's book in a poll by reading charity Booktrust.
Rowling was the first children's author to be voted the BA Author of the Year, and also win the British Book Awards Author of the Year. J.K. Rowling lives with her family in Edinburgh.
Pottermore from J.K. Rowling is the digital platform for Harry Potter. It encompasses an online experience and community (www.pottermore.com) and an online shop exclusively retailing the Harry Potter eBooks and digital audio books (http://shop.pottermore.com).
