J. Lei lived an idyllic life with her husband on their west Texas ranch. That is, until he was diagnosed with liver cancer that had invaded all his other major organs.

Two days later, Lei was a widow. Many would try to forget, but her heart remembers.

Lei's new book, "The Heart Remembers: A Memoir of Personal Growth," follows the author's journey beginning with her husband's diagnosis and through her grief process while providing insight into the thoughts and emotions anyone dealing with grief might face.

About the author
J. Lei earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education and a master's degree in counseling. She is a certified teacher and counselor and has taught writing for more than ten years. A widow, she has two sons and four grandchildren and lives in the Southwest.
