Ivory Rose Discusses Hardships of Runaway in TORN DREAMS

According to statistics from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, nearly 800,000 children are reported missing every year in the United States. Some are abducted by family members, while others are kidnapped by nonfamily or leave home as runaways to hit the streets alone. In her novel "Torn Dreams" (published by AuthorHouse), author Ivory Rose tells the story of one young runaway and the hardships she endures.

Told in retrospect, "Torn Dreams" chronicles the life of Ayla, who, at age 12, ran away from home to escape her mother's emotional abuse and sexual abuse from another family member.

Once she gets out on her own, Ayla has to find out the hard way that life as a runaway is no easier than the one she had just escaped. She's now faced with a whole new set of problems, quickly finding that the streets are no place for a young girl.

With nowhere to turn, Ayla decides her only choice is to keep moving, so she begins hitchhiking across the country. She encounters people from all walks of life and experiences major milestones across the way, including falling in love, all the while trying to cope with the traumas from her past.

Follow Ayla's courageous story as she brings readers up to the present day, where she still struggles with old wounds that refuse to heal. Sexual promiscuity, a broken heart and betrayed trust all still haunt Ayla, even as an adult, but she is determined to succeed.

Rose is hopeful that Ayla's story will resonate with readers who have experienced similar situations and give them hope that a brighter tomorrow is always possible.
