Ivan James has always enjoyed horse racing, even describing it as an "unmatched passion" of his. His fascination with this sport has evolved from pastime to an intellectual pursuit, the result of which is his book "The Life and Death of Hobby Horse Hall Race Track" (published by Xlibris). A new marketing campaign is all set to promote James' work which was first published in 2015.

"The Life and Death of Hobby Horse Hall Race Track" is a documentary that charts the rise and fall of horse racing in the Bahamas. James describes horse racing as a rich and important component of Bahamian history and invites readers to discover its technical, cultural and historical underpinnings.

An excerpt from the book reads:

"The Historical Fort Charlotte Garrison, the garrison consist of three forts- fort Charlotte, Fort Stanley and Fort D'arcy. In 1790, four hundred and twenty acres of land was granted from the Crown to Colonel Andrew Deveaux and that was the beginning of the Bahamas first sporting seat HOBBY HORSE HALL where ordinary lives became extraordinary lives!"

"The Life and Death of Hobby Horse Hall Race Track" is for history and culture buffs, horse racing enthusiasts and anyone looking for an informative and equally fascinating non-fiction read.
