ORLANDO, Fla.
Iris M Sidhu gathers a heartfelt collection of short quotes of life lessons that were passed on from her grandmother and many others. "Like My Grandmother Used to Say..." (published by Xlibris) aids readers with hope and direction; encouraging them to face the avalanche of trials and sorrows that are hurled their way. It guides them into embracing the struggle, for when it is over, they will come out a stronger and better person.
Having faced and survived the challenges life has thrown at her, Sidhu knows how fear can paralyze a person, leading them to drugs and alcohol to numb the pain of their problems. She believes that denying emotional pain denies growth in the process. Through this encouraging series of quotes, she hopes that readers will find strength within themselves to overcome their struggles.
Inspirational, touching, and at times humorous, "Like My Grandmother Used to Say..." instills peace, hope, and faith into readers. It guides them into seeing that "happiness is not something that happens, it something you seek."

About the Author
Iris M Sidhu was born in Puerto Rico and raised in New York City for all of her childhood and early teenage years. She was raised in a dysfunctional family, but still managed to find beauty and solace in places like Central Park, The Museum of the City of New York and the 96th Street Library. At a very early age, her mother decided to turn her over to her grandmother for care. She remembers Christmas in New York City as a magical time thanks to her grandfather, the only male role model she ever knew. Sidhu now lives in Florida with her husband, three children and five grandchildren.
