Larry, Gayle and Craig Powell's "Iridescent Passages" (published by Archway Publishing) narrates the survival and healing over a period of 50 years for their family after the death of their daughter, and the addiction of Craig and his life with years of emotional and behavioral disorders.

Larry and Gayle tried to remain strong through the death of Charmaine and the emotional and behavioral disorders of Craig. Despite the challenges the family encountered, they never gave up hope.

The authors observe that many families are faced with dealing with mental disorders, drugs, violence and the death of one's child. "We share how one family worked through these issues. There needs to be more help for those that don't have the support of family. We also share the difficulties we had with government agencies," the authors say.

An excerpt from this book:
I look at the miraculous work in the lives of the Powell family, and I think how very kind God has been to them. How very kind God has been to me too, how blessed I am to have been witness to this rebirth, this reuniting, this resurrection.

"Share your own experiences with others that may be in a similar situation. Learn from them. Prayer really does work."
