BALTIMORE, Aug. 4, 2017 /PRNewswire-iReach/ England's beautiful Wye Valley is the setting for Frances Powell's newest page-turning mystery. "Lady of the Wye" is a gripping tale of murder and intrigue which one reviewer has deemed "most highly recommended." "Lady of the Wye" is available now in ebook format, with a print release set for August 25.

After an illustrious career at London's Metropolitan Police Department, Scottish-born Chief Inspector Cam Fergus accepts a transfer to the Herefordshire town of Ross on Wye to wind down his career. The sleepy market town was the perfect place to escape the frequent crimes and gruesome murders that Cam dealt with daily at the Met. Yes, everything was idyllic, until that lazy summer afternoon when the Lady of the Wye surfaced. Although everything points to suicide, Cam's instincts tell him that things just don't add-up. When evidence indicating foul play is found at Wilton Castle, the case quickly develops into a murder investigation. As victims begin to pile up, Cam races against time to find the identity of the killer before more innocent lives are lost.

"Frances Powell's cozy murder mystery novel, Lady of the Wye, is a beguiling blend of cozy mystery, police procedural and British literary tradition as Chief Inspector Cameron Fergus and his team work to solve the mystery of the floating lady. When I first began reading this enjoyable mystery novel, visions of Tennyson's Lady of Shallot were a tantalizing set of images as Helen and Cameron's idyllic afternoon's picnic is shattered by the young woman's appearance in the water. Powell gives the reader a number of red herrings to mull over along the way, and the resolution of the case was clever and unexpected. Lady of the Wye is most highly recommended," says Jack Magnus for Readers' Favorite

Powell first made her mark on the literary world with "The O'Brien: A Ballysea Mystery," the first in a series featuring the majestic Irish Wolfhound as a central character, earning her a first 5 Star Review from Readers' Favorite. The breed's popularity has resulted in a world-wide enthusiastic following for the series; other "Ballysea Mystery" books include "A Bad Wind Blowing" and "The O'Brien: The Untold Story."

"The Bodyguard," Powell's second novel, also earned a 5-star rating from Readers' Favorite, which described it as "tightly plotted, suspenseful and well-written." The book is a historical spy caper set in Northern Ireland during the 'Troubles', demonstrating the author's skill with different genres.

"Mystery of White Horse Lake," released in the spring of 2017, was Powell's first venture into the fantasy/mystery genre earning her a third 5 Star rating in what Emily-Jane Hills Orford for Readers' Favorite called "a thrill to read."

Powell is currently working on "A Ballysea Christmas", the fourth Ballysea Mystery featuring the majestic Irish Wolfhound, The O'Brien.
