Interior Designer Perla Lichi Says Minimalism is Out for 2019 Image According to a recent article by Alice Murphy in the Daily Mail Australia, minimalism is definitely on its way out. Quoting creative designer Jessica McCarthy, the writer insists that minimalist design has become “mass-produced and boring.” She observes that interior designers are turning to “clashing patterns, vibrant jewel-hued color schemes and maximalist looks for a much-needed injection of joie de vivre in the home.”

No one could agree more than Florida-based international interior designer Perla Lichi, who loves an eclectic juxtaposition of styles, colors and textures. Ms. Lichi is adept at almost any interior design style. Some of the new buzzwords like “opulence” and “vibrancy” have often been used to describe some Perla Lichi rooms. Her recent vignette at the Home Design & Remodeling Show in Fort Lauderdale exemplifies this confident, bold combination of color and pattern.

"This look is not right for everyone," explains Ms. Lichi, who has designed homes in every style. "We like to call it 'Fun and Funky.' It takes a certain bold and fun-loving personality, a person who loves to make a definite statement in their home design." We even included a special section on our website portfolio for this style.

Some say the return to bright interior colors reflects optimism. Here’s hoping this trend foretells a bright outlook for the New Year.

Perla Lichi is a Florida state licensed professional interior designer, FL ID#1727 with offices in Coral Springs and Fort Lauderdale.
