Between 2010 and 2015, Archaeological Horizons, Inc. excavated a site considered that of the Revolutionary War-era blockhouse in Greensboro, Vermont. What was discovered, and what was learned about this pioneering period in American history from these investigations, is now available in a single volume entitled "The Greensboro Blockhouse Project: An Historical and Archaeological Investigation in Greensboro, Vermont," co-authored by Jill L. Baker and Patricia L. Haslam.
Author Jill Baker states, "In the spring of 2010, my aunt, Pat Haslam, suggested we combine our skills - she as an historian and genealogist, and me as an archaeologist - to find the fabled Revolutionary War period blockhouse in Greensboro, Vermont. With the publication of this book, we hope to share with the wider community the evidence we discovered at the site and the importance of that evidence in the broader scope of American Revolutionary War history."
The authors will hold a book signing at the Greensboro Historical Society in Greensboro, Vermont, on July 15, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Books will be for sale, but quantities are limited.
