Identified Flying Objects: Dr. Michael Masters' New Book Asks, 'Could Aliens Simply be Us, But from the Future?' Image Dr. Michael P. Masters is a professor of biological anthropology at Montana Tech in Butte, Montana. Masters has spent over two decades carefully examining the possibility that the UFO phenomenon may be best explained in the context of our distant human descendants returning from the future to study us in their own hominin evolutionary past.

Using an academic approach firmly rooted in anthropology, astronomy, astrobiology, and physics, Masters penned, "Identified Flying Objects: A Multidisciplinary Scientific Approach to the UFO Phenomenon." According to Masters, "The aim of this book is to initiate dialog regarding the possibility that alien and UFO sightings may in fact be legitimate events involving extratempestrials – or our time traveling descendants – whose humanoid form and advanced technology is the result of sustained human evolution here on Earth, long into the distant future."

Dr. Masters continues this research with the intent of initiating informed dialog about UFOs via an abductive method of inquiry that is firmly rooted in science and the principle of parsimony. Masters hopes this rigorous yet reserved scientific approach can help peel back the veil of stigma currently associated with this phenomenon, and bring into the developing conversation a broad audience of both believers and skeptics, as well as those in the commonly incredulous scientific community.

"I continue to remain vigilant in my own skepticism," Masters noted. "I do not have a staunch unwavering devotion to this notion, and I do not claim to proclaim a truth. Instead, my intent is simply to initiate dialog and encourage readers to consider how the continuation of long-term evolutionary trends in human culture and biology on this planet, may ultimately result in us becoming the ones piloting these disc-shaped craft by means of the anthropological tool of time travel."

As a well-respected scholar and educator, Masters has spent much of his professional career cultivating a broad academic background which, in addition to his PhD in anthropology, has included research in physics, astronomy, and astrobiology. Dr. Masters synthesizes this broad-based research in Identified Flying Objects, which challenges readers to consider new possibilities, while cultivating intellectual discourse regarding our ever-evolving understanding of time and time travel. His debut book will be available in March 2019.
