ALEXANDRIA, Va.

Goodness is beauty in the best estate.

In "In Search of the Secret Sanctuary: Across Scotland's River Braan," author Kim Michele Ingram tells the imaginative story of magic, witches, princesses and dragons in medieval Scotland.

The story unfolds as the witch Isobel kidnaps Prince Phillip's bride-to-be, Tramara, and disguises herself as the young beauty in an attempt to win his heart. However, the prince does not fall for her trickery, and he goes off in search of rescuing Tramara.

"In Search of the Secret Sanctuary: Across Scotland's River Braan" relays the important message to children that beauty is only skin deep.

"True beauty is not the physical body, but the honest inner-self which surrounds you in goodness," Ingram said.

Written in search of a bedtime story for her first grandson, Kim channeled her Scottish heritage and built upon the story each time she put him down for a nap. This storytelling adventure helped her grandchildren enhance their listening skills and encourage their creativity and imagination power.

"After the first story, I blossomed like I was granted some storytelling wisdom to which each grandchild benefited," Ingram said.
