Available on iTunes and Amazon, "How to Avoid Having Sex" is now a hilarious audiobook. The paperback version was originally published by Wayman Publishing just before Valentine's Day, 2013. EC Stilson wrote this book after a fan said, "You need to write a sex book. Then you'll make it big." Months later, after telling him she'd written about how to "avoid" having sex he simply laughed saying, "There's just no winning with you."

Janie Goltz, an editor and publishing consultant recently listened to the audiobook and said, "The narrator, Allie Mars, really represents this book well. It's hilarious! The book is even funnier out loud."

Allie Mars, born and raised in upstate New York, moved South in the mid-1980s. Thus, her accent is a wonderful blend of Yankee-Southern. Several representatives at Wayman Publishing heard her audition earlier this year and knew immediately that she would be the perfect voice for Stilson's latest publication.

This is Stilson's sixth published book, but only her first novella. When asked about this project, Stilson said, "I loved writing about this concept. It was hilarious trying out different 'theories' about avoiding sex on my husband. Too bad he caught on and starting trying them on me too! And now that he knows what I was up to, I can never use these wonderful ideas againlike fake sleeping, mock-anger, grieving over stupid things, etc."

"How to Avoid Having Sex" is meant to be humorous but many reviewers have said the ideas can actually be used. Stilson says that surprised her along with certain "after publication" occurrences that have been quite comical. For example: A man recently asked Stilson if this book was first published over thirty years ago, saying that if it were he thought his wife already read it and took it to heart. A woman bought a copy of Stilson's novella at a signing in March and immediately hid it under her jacket as she looked around, making sure no one saw her purchase.

The concept for this book is already stirring controversy, but still many (women and men alike) are saying a book just like this one should have been written years ago. "She puts as much thought into avoiding sex as men put into having sex. So turnabout is fair play," wrote Dana, an Amazon reviewer.

"If there's one factual conclusion I've discovered about sex," Stilson wrote in the opening of her book, "it's this: at some point in your life you won't want to have it." Wayman Publishing hopes that many listeners will be able to relate to and enjoy this new audiobook that is sure to make many people laugh out loud.
