Throughout human history, hunters have used a specific set of skills in order to bring down their prey. Firstly, hunters must have good tracking skills in order for them to efficiently stalk their prey. A hunter must also be able to navigate through the terrain without being noticed and lastly, a hunter must be attuned to the slightest changes in nature. And yet, a good hunter must also have proper respect for nature and other living things. Indeed, in ancient hunting communities, a good hunter must also respect his prey and never kill more than is needed. In "Horns and Hair of the High Country", veteran hunter and author Lloyd Antypowich has written an intriguing read that gives the reader a whole new perspective towards nature and the merits of conservation.

This is a story of four wild animals that live in the high country and it is written in part as how the animals see what impact man has made on their lives. It is a truly an eye opening read that gives the reader a whole new perspective on humanity's constant encroachment on animal territory and the negative effects it has on the animals and their habitats. This exciting and oftentimes scary read shows the reader the grave facts of nature's constant deterioration due to over hunting and improper use of the land's natural resource. This book is meant to teach everyone its dangers and how to help conserve the environment. Although this book is meant for everyone, the message especially goes to hunters and outdoorsmen for they have constant interaction with nature, and because of this their actions may either save or doom the environment. This book was influenced by the author's years of experience as a hunter and his wish to conserve nature's beauty.

"Horns and Hair of the High Country" is a truly engrossing read that combines memorable characters, a great understanding of animals and a pure love for nature.
