Historical Fiction Series Continues Search for Home Image As America began its twentieth-century expansion into the West, families were torn apart by the challenges of facing this new frontier. Enid E. Haag knows this as her mother faced similar adversity growing up. Her mother's struggles served as the basis for Haag launching the "New Mexico Gal" series. Haag continues the historical accounts with "Gone to Idaho: New Mexico Gal."

"Gone to Idaho: New Mexico Gal" opens with Ida being saved from a burning building by passerby Jamie. The fire has left Ida without any memory of who she is or where her family is located. Her rescuer attempts to return her to her family, setting off for Idaho.

Ida's husband Bruno, learns that his missing wife might be in the pacific northwest and takes off, leaving their daughter, Emma, behind. A tragedy sends Emma to Idaho, where she accidentally crosses paths with her mama. Both fail to recognize each other while striving to save the life of the most important man in their lives, Papa.

"It is short, action-packed story on the importance of faith and Emma's search for family," Haag said, "Gone to Idaho carries this innate longing for home and the comforts a stable and loving environment brings. Where is an even bigger question at the heart of the story centers on what family and home looks like to each person."
