RICHMOND, Va. -
According to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America, nearly 15 million adults suffer from some form of depression. Author, Heather Smith believes that many of these wounded souls can lean on Christ to discover innate happiness.
In the new book, "Extravagant Love," Smith provides readers with motivational letters to inspire them when going through difficult times. Each chapter is written as a personalized letter and begins with an inspirational Bible verse that matches that chapter's theme.
Smith hopes readers will understand that God loves all his children and wants to bring them out of their suffering.
"It is my deepest prayer that whoever reads this book will grasp the fact that He loves each of us," Smith said. "He wants to be with us in the good times and in the hard times of lost and hurt."
