Inspired by his wife and their love for each other, Harry Hall wrote his debut novel "Pride and Passion." The book is unique for the romance genre in that it focuses primarily on the perspective of a man.

Tyler and Penny are high school sweethearts who separate due to the former's stubborn pride. After college, Tyler becomes a promising young land developer and building contractor. Despite his successes, Tyler continues to long for Penny and regrets letting her get away from him.

"The main character knows very well that pride is one of his downfalls," said Hall. "As Tyler grows through experience, he sees that his love for Penny is real and that their feelings for each other remain strong even as the years pass."

"Pride and Passion" is set in the 1960s and continues through the early 1970s. Both the social climate and the two characters evolve throughout the book and they come to better understanding each other through time and maturity.

As a story of unyielding love, "Pride and Passion" shows how a love connection can last despite struggles through the passage of time.
