About the author: Hardy Keith Edwards is a Los Angeles native with extensive career experience in education as an English language arts teacher and performer. He has a Master of Science degree in counseling with a concentration in career counseling. He is a sixth-generation descendant of Sojourner Truth, the American abolitionist and women's rights activist. He currently is an adjunct professor for California State University, Northridge teaching African American humanities and curriculum design. He is the creative director of the American Aesthetics Academy based in Los Angeles.
