PALO ALTO, Calif.

Conflict resolution program co-founders Elisabeth Seaman and Jack Hamilton, together with Sharlene Gee and Hillary Freeman, team up to present the principles of their Learn2Resolve program in their new book, "Conflict - The Unexpected Gift: Making the Most of Disputes in Life and Work" (published by iUniverse).

Seaman says Learn2Resolve's curriculum is based on the structured communication principles that serve as the foundation of any mediation process. The book is meant to reach readers of all ages, with chapters offering concrete steps for forming improved communication skills, resolving conflict and building viable relationships with family, friends and co-workers. Each chapter offers real-life scenarios to exemplify how the program's teachings can apply to the reader.

"Conflict is a natural dimension of human interaction," the authors state. "The rough edges of people's personalities can irritate others. When that happens, it leads to clashes among people who live, study or work together, which often leaves personal relationships damaged. The capacity to learn how to resolve interpersonal conflicts is deeply rooted in our human potential. It may be one of the most valuable skill sets we can develop over the course of our lives."

"Conflict - The Unexpected Gift" has been selected for inclusion in the iUniverse Star program, which recognizes excellence in writing and commercial success.
