According to Childhelp.org, a report of child abuse is made every 10 seconds. To help the thousands of individuals who experienced or are experiencing a childhood of abuse, author Haley M. Robertson tells her empowering story in "Dancing with the Ego: Beyond the limited awareness of your ego you are beautiful, you are valued, you are enough and you are loved unconditionally" (published by Balboa Press).

At just 3 years old, when her father was released from jail, Robertson returned home to live with her emotionally-abusive mother and alcoholic, heroin-using father. Her father not only took her to bars as a child, but also prostituted her until she was a young teenager. Through her own empowerment she was able to escape a life of abuse and live the American dream of freedom, wellness, peace and with the joy and happiness others wish for.

"Dancing with the Ego" is the true story of how Robertson, now 58, is able to live her life fully present and aware that she is more than the limitations that were programmed into her ego during her childhood years.

"History does not define who we are. The choices we can make in each moment and with each challenge are what define us."
