Author Wan Lenox tells the story of an abused child fighting her way toward a better life in his moving new novel "Hypocrisy of Prejudice: Power of Hope" (published by Trafford Publishing).

When Esther was only 7 years old, she lost her parents in a car accident and was sent to live with her 78-year-old grandmother, Dolores, whom she'd only met a handful of times. Consumed with grief over the loss of her mother and father, Esther remained shy and distant for a long time before finally warming up to her grandmother. Unfortunately, by the time Esther and Dolores were establishing a closer relationship, Dolores found out she had advanced cancer.

Esther was 12 when she lost her grandmother and was taken under the wing of Parkers, Dolores' longtime neighbors. The Parkers organized the funeral and took it upon themselves to find Esther a safe place to live, but their help was short-lived and Esther soon found herself on her own again.

The parentless child was sent to an orphanage and later adopted by a wealthy family. She enrolled in high school and was faced with a whole new set of problems, including the discovery of a controversy surrounding her new foster family. Now, she must rely on hope and determination to rise above these new challenges.

About the Author
Wan Lenox was born in Port au Prince, Haiti. After high school, he moved to Florida, where he studied at Edison State College and Hodges University. Since an early age, writing has always been an important part of his life. He was the president and founder of a literary group called The MYHA, Movement of Young Haitian Artists. He resides in Florida and this is his first book.
