Author Eugene Shapiro re-releases his satirical work of fiction that offers the story line of "How far-fetched would it be that a crass, New York hotel developer, (who's really the devil and never held a single public office), ends up running for president against a polished woman who's a Yale Law School graduate turned- Governor?"

"Because of the uncanny parallels between political fiction and fact, we've exclusively reissued 'How The Devil Became President,' a compelling tale of a historical election between driven, measured, ball-busting Governor Harriet Dickey and the ridiculously wealthy, unapologetic and womanizing David Savage," said Shapiro.

When asked what his thoughts were when Shapiro realized that Donald Trump and Hilary Clinton were in the race for this year's election, he shared, "I was pretty surprised since it was 2006 I wrote 'How The Devil Became President,' and they were always the ones who my characters competing in a presidential election were modeled after long before candidacies were even twinkles in their eyes."

Shapiro adds, "What's changed in the past 10 years since I wrote 'How The Devil Became President' is that public divide is much more severe. It's much easier for a demagogue to appeal. Political leaders will not govern and man needs to be governed. The crowd's anger is real. Instead on turning their searchlight on what has not been done, the scapegoat appears. The one who shines his anger on the scapegoat(s) becomes the leader. That had happened over and over again. We are at the edge of another historical precipice."

Through precision, satire and truth, "How The Devil Became President" spotlights the many ways in which corporate media, propaganda, politics and blind-faith converge into startling prophecy of a tale. Shapiro's dialogue between God and The Devil evokes reflection and ultimate astonishment over how a smooth-talking self-absorbed womanizer of a devil could ever get elected president.
