There are two times a year when religious communities gear up for larger crowds at church services on Sunday-Easter and Christmas. As the Easter holiday quickly approaches, Babar Shah Khan hopes to clarify for believers and nonbelievers around the world some misguided misinterpretations about Holy verses with his new book, "How and Why God Evolved: An Alternative Perspective."

"I encourage all people of faith to look more objectively and critically at their Holy books and beliefs," Khan said. "My book is not intended to disparage anyone's faith; rather, I intend for readers to enrich their awareness of their own religion and expand their understanding of God and how he evolved throughout history."

Khan believes human brainwashing starts from day one to satisfy parent's wishes and pledges to their deity. If you grew up in church, it's natural to accept the doctrine you were raised in.

"The more I dug into Holy Scriptures, the more God faded away in the rearview mirror," Khan said. "Blind belief based on family tradition or because somebody said so just is not a logical reason to espouse a religious view."

Instead, Khan takes readers back to the roots with "How and Why God Evolved" by highlighting to logic behind God's history. He believes all religions began in essentially the same spot and just created their own unique practices over time. Maybe we are all more connected than we ever thought.

"No one religion is truly unique or separate from the others," Khan said. "Connected deeply by similar rites, rituals and reasons, all religions share more commonalities than differences."
