A news article posted by the New York Times, August 10th of this year, stirred awareness about the psychological wounds suffered by American soldiers sent to war in the Middle East. Featuring the story of Major Richards, it shockingly revealed the irony found in how America is losing more soldiers to suicide than to the enemy. Sending an alarming message to the public, the article provided an accurate demonstration of the gravity of mental trauma that is inflicted upon those fighting the war. In line with this, a compelling book about a man's journey through racial oppression, war and personal conflicts is released. Written by author Gregory Babin, "Who Will Pray for Me" dramatically shares the grim realities in the life one Jake Levin.
In this book, readers will witness the trials and tribulations experienced by a Jewish family who lived under the Czarist Russian rule. It depicts how they survived the oppression and managed to escape to New York. Jack Levin belonged to this family. He was known for his strength and fighting skills, hence he was feared by all. He joined the Army as a first lieutenant during the Second World War.
Although Jake was a tough and brilliant man, he did have several weaknesses sought from the haunting events in his past as well as his dysfunctional relationship with his spiteful wife. Due to her sexual, physical and psychological brutality, along with the psychological trauma he endured in the army, Jake went through a downward spiral.
A unique blend of poignant and heart-pounding episodes, "Who Will Pray for Me" reveals a myriad of eye-opening insights that paint the undeniable truths behind inner and outer battles.
