CLAREMONT, Calif.
Grace E. Moremen first introduced readers to her mother, Agnes Edwards Partin, in her 2006 book "Student Life at the University of California, Berkeley During And After World War I." Moremen invites readers to experience the next three years of Agnes' life in, "Boston Glass Ceiling: The Letters of Agnes Edwards Partin, 1922-1925" (published by Archway Publishing), which details Agnes' battles as a woman in the publishing industry.
"Boston Glass Ceiling" picks up where the first biography left off. Agnes, 23, is a fresh college graduate who is eager to penetrate the publishing world, but she isn't prepared for the resistance she meets.
Through a series of 300 letters written by Agnes to her own mother, readers get front row seats to watch as Agnes battles the male-dominated publishing industry to prove her worth as a writer and editor.
Moremen hopes her mother's story will inspire readers to pursue their dreams - professional and personal - no matter the hurdles in front of them.
