Global Traveler Announces Fifth Annual Leisure Lifestyle Awards

Global Traveler, the only monthly magazine for business and leisure luxury travelers, announces the winners of its fifth annual Leisure Lifestyle Awards. The winners were feted at a cocktail reception May 18, 2017, on the rooftop of Sofitel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills.

Global Traveler's readers, elite Globility Board and the highly experienced magazine staff made nominations in each category. Global Traveler's Globility Board consists of well-traveled subscribers who act as a direct link between the magazine and our readers.

From these nominations, Global Traveler's esteemed Advisory Board selected the final winners. The Advisory Board is comprised of well-traveled executives across a broad range of industries.

The awards were announced in Global Traveler's fifth annual Leisure Lifestyle Edition, available now. The issue also includes a cruise line update, a look at pilgrimage tourism, an article on honeymoon trends and a Caribbean island overview.

For the fourth year, Global Traveler named Special Achievement Awards. For its flexible check-in and check-out times, personalized pillowcases and unique amenities, The Peninsula Beverly Hills was recognized for Outstanding Customized Service. Alaska Airlines' sustainable biofuel flight earned it the Outstanding Environmental Initiatives recognition. The Outstanding Innovations honor went to United Airlines for its unprecedented Polaris business class. National Geographic Expeditions received the Outstanding Social Awareness accolade for its conservation and sustainability efforts in the destinations they visit.
