Round Rock, Texas
Glenda Kyle presents a wealth of ideas for involving children in the celebration of Christmas in her interactive new book, "Children's Christmas Activities: Honoring Jesus" (published by CrossBooks).
"As I have grown in my walk with the Lord, celebrating Jesus' birthday has changed from a family tradition to a place of investing into the lives of our children and grandchildren, passing down Christian values from generation to generation," Kyle writes. "It has become an awesome time of thanking, praising, glorifying and magnifying our Lord. What better way to share Jesus with others than honoring him with joy at a time when the whole world is aware of God's Son?"
"Children's Christmas Activities" helps children discover the meaning behind different Christmas traditions, including the Christmas tree, Santa, "The Twelve Days of Christmas" and the candy cane. There are specific activities using talent, questions and answers, instruments, music and dance. A selection of plays features a variety of characters, from Jed the donkey to a trio of aliens, and even the archangel Gabriel.
"Giving children a godly foundation of truth is a huge need nowadays," Kyle states. "This book grows children in the knowledge of the Lord."
