As a teacher, author Gilbert Gbedawo wanted to see his students excel both academically and later in life. He was inspired to write "Steps Towards Educational Excellence-The Role of Parents, Students and Supplementary Schools" (published by Xlibris UK) after completing his research into the problem of underachievement especially among ethnic minorities.
This book identifies the main reasons for persistent underachievement among students in general and ethnic minorities in the United Kingdom in particular. It explores the importance of education and schooling to the well-being of individuals and communities. It also outlines the strategies that parents, students and schools need to put in place to guarantee educational excellence and success for all students including minorities.
"This book is what parents, students, teachers and policy makers are waiting for because it is a call to responsibility, vision and ultimately excellence," Gbedawo explains. "It addresses the issues confronting parents and schools in their effort to provide students with the best educational outcome."
Through the publication of "Steps Towards Educational Excellence." Gbedawo would like readers to know that the responsibility for educational excellence and success in life start with them and can be enhanced when all the stakeholders work in synergy.
