George R.R. Martin Feeling Pressure to Finish THE WINDS OF WINTER

Game of Thrones author, George R.R. Martin, has been feeling pressure to finish his sixth novel in the series, The Winds of Winter.

He said, "There is more pressure every year...The main thing is to make the book as good as I can possibly make it."

Martin goes on, "Fifty years from now nobody is going to care how frequently the books came out. They will care if the books are as good as they can possibly be, if the books stand the test of time. That's what I struggle with as I write."

George R.R. Martin is an American novelist and short story writer in the fantasy, horror and science fiction genres, and a screenwriter and television producer. He is best known for A Song of Ice and Fire, his international bestselling series ofepic fantasy novels that HBO adapted for its dramatic series Game of Thrones. Martin serves as the series' co-executive producer, while also scripting one of each season's 10 episodes. In 2005, Lev Grossman of Time called Martin "the American Tolkien", and the magazine later named him one of the "2011 Time 100", a list of the "most influential people in the world."
