Geoff Livingston released Exodus this week, the opening salvo in a science fiction trilogy that centers on the themes of utopia in a technological Dark Age, and the disruptive power of religious fundamentalism. Livingston's publishing company, Lady Soleil, Inc., will exhibit at the 71st Annual World Science Fiction Convention in San Antonio, TX between August 29th and September 2nd to promote Exodus and The Fundamentalists series.
In Exodus, blogger and author Geoff Livingston confronts America's worst fears with a world destroyed by technology and dominated by Christian fundamentalism. And this book didn't just happen on a whim, it's been 19 years in the making.
In later entries to The Fundamentalists, the power of technology and principles of freedom are examined as the narrative progresses through steam punk to hard science fiction. Interested parties can learn about the series by visiting Geoff's book web site, geoffreyrobertlivingston.com.
"I was excited and afraid at the same time to release Exodus after 19 years," Livingston said. "I think the prior years of blogging and business book writing made me ready for this. After almost two decades, there's a little more emotion involved."
Exodus begins when a dark stranger arrives in the middle of the night ripping open a centuries old wound in post-apocalyptic Harpers Ferry, it's discovered that religious zealots have risen from the south, conquering all that stands before them. Jason must help his fellow villagers escape to a land far away to preserve their culture and buy enough time to build a defense. Can they succeed without any technology in the face of a rugged American continent?
"What makes this novel such a compelling read is the characters: smart, strong young men and women who are reluctant heroes weighted down by their responsibility and determined to keep their families and their community safe," said Daria Steigman, founder of Steigman Communications.
The novel is available for purchase now in paperback, Kindle, Nook, and iBook form (coming soon).
