Author Gabriel Amoateng-Boahen sheds light on how "THE "CULTURE OF SILENCE" CONTRIBUTES TO PERPETUATING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE" (published by Xlibris). This book encourages readers to speak out for the voiceless everywhere.

According to http://www.childhelp.org, more than 3 million reports of child abuse are made in the United States involving more than six million children every year. Amoateng-Boahen himself personally experienced molestation and abuse. But when reported, no action was taken. One of such physical abuses almost rendered him blind at a tender age and has left him with a visible mark on his nose. There are all kinds and forms of abuses in society today, whether in the workplace, worship centers, schools and even with families. Most people also experience unreported domestic violence on a daily basis. In this book, the author seeks to create awareness and also adds to what earlier researchers and organizations have done and are doing.

Amoateng-Boahen gives a thorough exploration of the whole issue of the "Culture of Silence." This issue cuts across all cultures, races, genders and age groups. He wants to emphasize why silence is a "killer" and must be exposed. "When we are silent," he says, "human beings suffer."

The research took place in the US but the main target audience is the author's own people in Ghana and anybody who once experienced, currently experiencing or anticipates experiencing domestic violence.
