Authors Su Bacon and Linda Deal have just released "God's Promises to Me: psPods Thirty-One-Day Devotional and Journal," a tool created to help parents teach children to love God, to know his promises, and know that he is always there for them.
Parents are encouraged to sit down each day with their children to read the daily scriptures and teach them that the Bible was created not only for adults, but for children too. The one-year repetition of the 31-day devotional will firmly plant God's Word into children's hearts and minds.
Within "God's Promises to Me" there is a scripture, an encouragement, a prayer, and a space to journal. The devotional is also a great communication tool that empowers families to carve out time for parents and children to bond while learning God's Word, as priorities must happen before communication can start.
"The Bible and its scripture is not just stories but the spoken Word of God itself...that's where the power is and that is where God has said his Word will not come back void," said Bacon and Deal. "To believe in God and his love sounds so easy, but when the world's chaos comes crashing down around us, do we really believe? Do we know how to get God's attention? Do we know where the answers lie?"
The answers are right in front of everyone, but one can't call on God's Word if it has not found a home in their hearts and minds. The journal is a safe place for the child's praises, prayers, and concerns, and a tool for them to understand and know that God does hold the answers to unending questions.
