KENEFIC, Okla. - Author G. Rodney Avant has been fascinated by mythology and the history surrounding the many myths of the world for as long as he can remember. His passion for mythology previously led him to teach a high school mythology course. It then manifested itself again in the form of his 2005 reference book, "A Mythological Reference" (published by AuthorHouse).

Avant hopes to reach a wider audience of students with a new marketing venture, which includes updated press materials and an appearance at a book show in 2015.

In "A Mythological Reference," Avant provides information for more than 4,000 mythological people, places and stories. He says many books, movies and discussions use myths as a reference or in metaphor. It is his hope that "A Mythological Reference" will help readers better understand references to mythology and instill in them an interest to further pursue their studies of the topic.
