According to some Christian denominations, there is a gateway to heaven that is called the "pearly gates". In the popular culture, it is described as a set of large, white iron gates in the clouds guarded by Saint Peter. In the book "Saint Peter's Gate: Path of Darkness" (published by Trafford Publishing), author Fran Comesanas provides a unique interpretation of a long standing image of what "Saint Peter's Gate" is.
The book tackles the classic struggle of good versus evil and follows the life of a young woman Ember, who, after suffering the loss of her family, gives up her human life to become a hunter of dark human souls. She becomes a ruthless hunter demon that tracks and claims the souls of her human victims, offering them nothing but terror and death.
Ember is the main character in the story. She is the driving force of two other characters, Whisper and Nathaniel. One is bent on destruction and the other is searching for answers to questions that he feels only Ember can answer.
"'Saint Peter's Gate: Path of Darkness' is a fiction/fantasy book and an interesting take on the old struggle between good and evil. There's a good deal of action and very little down time for the reader and the characters," Comesanas shares.
