Former Philadelphia Mayor Michael A. Nutter will appear at a National Press Club Headliners Book Event at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 15, to discuss his new biography, Mayor: The Best Job in Politics.
In Mayor, Mayor Nutter draws on his lifetime of experience in politics (he served 15 years in the Philadelphia City Council before serving two terms as the city's mayor) to highlight the important work being done at the local level and to show how progressive and effective change can be made, not just in Philadelphia, but in cities across the country.
Mayor Nutter left public office on January 4, 2016, and shortly thereafter, accepted an appointment to the Homeland Security Advisory Council and a professorial position at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs. He is also currently serving as a political commentator for CNN.
This event will feature a discussion with the author, an audience question-and-answer session, and a book signing. Tickets are $5 for National Press Club members and $10 for the general public. To purchase tickets and copies of the book, please click here.
Books will also be available for purchase at the event. Proceeds from book sales will benefit the non-profit affiliate of the Club, the National Press Club Journalism Institute, so we kindly ask that you leave all outside books and memorabilia at home.
