Forbes' annual list of the top-earning authors announced E.L. James on top with the "Fifty Shades of Grey" author earning $95 million in the past year.
Number two on the list is crime writer, James Patterson, who earned $91 million between June 2012 and June 2013.
Suzanne Collins who wrote "The Hunger Games" trilogy, earned $55 million and landed at number 3 on the list.
According to Forbes, "the e-book format was a key factor, giving readers an easy way to purchase the sex-filled sequels-and a discrete way to read them in public."
Other noted authors who have graced the list for decades, such as Danielle Steel and Stephen King, are now at No. 5 (Steel), and No. 10 (King).
