Did you enjoy shrimp or crawfish this weekend?

The multi-billion dollar Louisiana fish and shellfish industry would dwindle to almost nothing without the all-important breeding grounds in the tidal marshes, swamps and bayous. These same marshes, swamps, shrubs and hardwood forests also play a crucial role in protecting coastal cities. The unique Cajun/Creole culture and New Orleans itself are in jeopardy without widespread awareness and preventive measures to "Save the Wetlands."

"For Love of Louisiana" is Cintra Austin's desperate plea for America to wake up to this crisis. Her book is beautiful, interesting, informative ... filled with detailed research and delightful personal anecdotes that show her deep love for her Louisiana homeland. Beginning with descriptions and photography of the wetlands' sheer beauty, the author moves on to discuss the impact of losing them.
